CITY SHOOTING INJURES YOUTH

At 7:28 pm on May 7th, police visited the Trauma Room at the KHMH, where JERMAINE MATURA, of Belize City was seen with gunshot wounds to the back of his right hand and abdomen. Initial investigations revealed that Matura was along with family and friends inside a yard at #63 Central American Boulevard, Belize City, when they heard noises coming from a bushy lot nearby. Shortly after, several gunshots were heard coming from the yard; which caught Matura, causing the said injuries. He is admitted to ward, at the KHMH, in a critical but stable condition. Police are seeking two young men (Austin and Kareem Stevens) for questioning in connection with this incident.

GREASY MAN WANTED BY POLICE
A cashier of Belize City reported that on May 7th, she was drinking at her home with her friend Julie and a man known to her as Lambey or “Bonja”, who works at the Pickwick Club as a security guard. At about 2:30 p.m., both Julie and Lambey left and she went to sleep. Sometime later she was awakened by someone touching her. Lambey was standing over her fondling her. She then told Lambey to leave and called the Police. She was examined by a doctor who certified her injury as harm. Police are looking for Lambey AKA “Bonja” for questioning.

PORT OFFICER DOCUMENTS STOLEN

MR. MARTIN GARCIA, the Control Officer at the Belize Port Authority, reported to police that sometime between 5:45 pm on May 6th and 6:00 am on the 7th someone broke into his 1991 gold Isuzu Rodeo by damaging the rear left passenger side glass window. Garcia made checks inside the vehicle and discovered the following items were missing: (1) maritime pollution book valued (1) International Tonnage book (1) Safe training and certification book (1) International low line book (3) Port Act books, chapters 233, 234 and 237 (1) a passport in the name of Martin Garcia (1) blue electric plainer and Port State Control officer PBA stamp and other audit documents.

ARREST: Reference report made by Mr. Gavin Sanchez on the 30/4/08, police formally arrested and charged 21 year old Lionel Daniel Thompson a fisherman of #197 Iguana Street Ext, Belize City for the crime of aggravated assault, kept unlicensed fire arm and kept unlicensed ammunition.
