BELIZE CITY

WOMAN ROBBED AT HOME

MS. ALBA LUZ LOPEZ, 39yrs, a businesswoman of Partridge Street, Belize City reported that on 12/05/08, at about 10:50am, whilst at her residence, two men of dark complexion came to her house to sell copper. Ms. Lopez then asked to see the copper and one of the men then took out a firearm and pointed at her. She immediately attempted to close her house door with the assistance of her father; but the men were still able to force their way into the house. Lopez grabbed at the firearm which to her looked fake and a struggle ensued. One of the men then took away a gold color Motorola brand cellular with SIM card and calling number 623-2160, valued at $700.00 with 150.00 in credits. The men demanded money from Lopez but she told them she had none, thereafter they fled the scene.

FEMALE JACKS BOY


A 16 year old minor of Cairo Street, Belize City, visited police accompanied by his mother, and reported that at 11:00am on Mon. the 12/5/08, while selling vegetables on a bicycle cart on Faber’s Road, he was approached by a dark skin female and two Creole men. The female was about 5’ 7” in height, slim built, wearing a white T-shirt and blue ¾ pants. The dark male person was of slim built, wearing a white T-shirt and black ¾ pants, and about 5’ 4” in height. The other male was of dark skin, slim built, wearing a white T-shirt and black ¾ pants. The female then took a black firearm from her pants waist, placed it to the minor’s forehead, while one man held him the other hit him in his stomach and back. The female then search his front pants pocket and took $105.00 in cash from the minor. All three persons then got on their separate bicycles and rode off on Faber’s road in the direction of Faber’s Road Extension. Police have detained one suspect and are looking for the other two, still at large.

BUSINESSMAN ROBBED 17GEES


MR. MUKESH MAKHWANI, 36yrs, an Indian Businessman of Euphrates Avenue, Belize City, reported that on 11.5.08, at 3:45pm, he arrived in Belize City from San Pedro Town. Makhwani then drove his white pickup truck home and parked in front of Chon Saan Restaurant on Euphrates Avenue. He was then approached by two dark skin male persons, one of whom pointed a firearm at him, while the other took away from him, one Grace Kennedy handbag which contained the sum of $17,000.00 in cash and $5,000.00 worth of BTL phone cards. The male persons then got into a white van with license plate C-17318 and left. Police investigation continues.

BURGLARY

CARLA TORRES, 27yrs, secretary of Kings Park, Belize City, reported that between the hours of 1:00pm and 5:00pm on the 12/5/08, her house was burglarized. Stolen there from were: (1) black Sony Stereo System value $2,656.00, (1) grey Precision 21” Flat Screen Television value $1,399.00, (1) Blue Nintendo 64 game valued at $300.00 and (1) red CD case containing (48) music CD’s valued at $480.00. Police visited the scene and observed that entry was gained by opening the French glass window on the east side of the building.

ARREST: Reference report made by Frank Logan and Primitivo Smith on the 11/5/08, police formally arrested and charged JASON WHYLIE, 24yrs, of #6842 Aloe Vera Street, Belize City for the crimes of: (3) counts of Harm, (2) counts of Damage to Property, (1) Wounding, (1) Aggravated Burglary and (1) Burglary.

DRUG TRAFFICKING/ARREST


At 11:45am on the 12/5/08, Police on mobile patrol on Faber’s Road Extension conducted a search on a Blue four door car with tinted windows which led to the discovery of two black plastic bags containing 1,612 grams of cannabis. As a result the (3) occupants of the vehicle namely Eric WILLIAMS, 29yrs, Belizean technician of Jimmy Dyer Avenue, Belize City, Winston ESTRADA, 37yrs, Belizean laborer and Emma ESTRADA, 33yrs, Belizean cook both of Caye Caulker were arrested and charged for the offense of “DRUG TRAFFICKING”.

POST MORTEM EXAMINATION

Reference the murder of Ali Orlando Flores, on the 12/5/08 a postmortem examination was conducted on the body of the deceased.  Dr. Estradabran certified cause of death to be “EXSANGUINATIONS DUE TO INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL BLEEDING DUE TO MULTIPLE STAB WOUNDS”.   

DRUG TRAFFICKING/ARREST

At 9:20am on the 12/5/08, upon information received, Police conducted a search on the premises of Lucia SHOL, 30yrs, a domestic of Bella Vista Village which led to the discovery of a black plastic bag containing a total of 77.2 grams of cannabis.Present during the search along with Lucia were Jose SHOL, 30yrs, a laborer and Cresanto CHUB, 60yrs, both of Bella vista Village who were arrested and charged for the offence of “DRUG TRAFFICKING”.

ORANGE WALK DROWNING

Acting on information received on Sunday police visited Lamanai Outpost Lodge in Indian Church, O.W. Initial investigations reveal that on Sunday at about 5:45pm 26 year old Gabriel Perez and 24 year old Edwardo Murillo ( both of Chan Pine Ridge) went into the New River Lagoon in a skiff. The skiff, driven by Perez suddenly swerved, throwing him overboard. Once overboard and into the river he did not resurface. Further investigations by police also reveal that both men were drinking heavily prior to the mishap. Police again visited the scene at 6am but the body has not been recovered. The area is deep and crocodile infested so they are threading carefully. The search continues.
