TRAFFIC VIOLATOR Attempts BRIBE

P.C. #921 V. Guzman reported that at approximately 1:45 pm on 25.6.08 while he conducting a patrol within Caledonia Village, Corozal District, he stopped a Toyota Pickup (L/p Czl C 10687), driven at the time by a 39yrs cane farmer of San Victor Village, George Allen Jr., and asked him to produce his drivers license. Instead, Allen responded saying that he does not have a driver’s license. Further checks made on the vehicle resulted that the Insurance had expired since 2005. P.C. Guzman informed Allen of the offense committed and detained him. Police formally arrested and charged George Allen for the offenses of Drove motor vehicle not covered by Third Party Risk Insurance, Drove motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license and Drove unlicensed Motor vehicle.

At about 10:00am on 26.6.08 whilst P.c. Guzman was inside the Station, George Allen Jr., visited the station and asked P.C. Guzman to withdraw charges against him in reference to traffic offenses that occurred on the 25.6.08 -- and took out (3) $50.00 and placed it on the table. As a result P.C. Guzman informed Allen of the crime being committed and was detained.

Police have formally arrested and charged George Allen Jr., 39yrs, cane farmer of San Victor Village, Corozal District for the crime of Attempt Bribery.

THREAT

Ana Pena, 28yrs, of Cristo Rey Village, Corozal District reported that about 6:30pm on 23.6.08 whilst at her home conversing with her daughter, her neighbor, Manuel Choc, came inside her yard and in the Spanish Language insulted and threatened her life. Police are on the lookout for Choc pending charges of Threatening Words.

CHECK SCAM

Roland Gonzalez, 29yrs, of United Ville Village reported that on the 25/6/08 at about 8:30 am he visited the Scotia Bank San Ignacio Branch where he was informed that the sum of $ 7000.00 was withdrawn from his account. He also made A check at Scotia Bank Belmopan branch where he was given a copy of a check (# 087) which was cashed in Dangriga by Hollywood Fashion store. He confirmed that the check was his but the signature is not. Gonzalez made a check for Mr. Harry of Hollywood Fashion store but was informed that on the 18th June, 2008, one Ronald Padilla sent someone with the check that was cashed on the 20th June 2008. Gonzalez also told police that about 3 months ago Padilla made a similar attempt with another cheque in the amount of $5,000.00 but was unsuccessful.

GUSMAN UNDER ATTACK

Francisco Guzman, 19yrs, of # 66 George Price Ave., Santa Elena Town reported to police that on the Monday, June 23, 2008, at about 9:30am, he was at his home when he saw one Gabilan and one Carlos Chavarria riding on separate bicycles from east to west. Upon reaching in front of his house, Gabilan pulled out a .38 revolver pointed it at him and said, “I will kill you with this,” then rode away. On Thursday, June 26, 2008 at about 3:30 pm again outside his house Gusman heard someone calling for him and upon making checks he saw George Gallindo and Herson Chaves (both had knives) who proceeded to attack him wounding him on his arm. A medico form was issued and a doctor certified his injuries as wounding. Police are looking for Herson Chavez and George Gallindo pending charges.

INDECENT ASSAULT

MAY BUSH, 42yrs, of Santa Elena Town reported that on 26/6/08 at about 11:45pm whilst at FAYA WATA Bar situated on Burns Avenue San Ignacio Town, whilst socializing, one Michael Sanchez grabbed her buttocks. Police have detained Michael Sanchez, 35yrs, Technician of #125 Signayork Belama Extension Belize City, pending charges of Indecent Assault.

Aja Neal, 27yrs, Security Guard of George Price Avenue reported that on 26/6/80 at 11:50pm whilst working at Faya Wata situated on Burns Avenue he saw one Michael Sanchez disrespecting May Bush whilst executing his duty. Sanchez pulled out a Black Hand gun and cranked it and pointed it at him. Police have detained Michael Sanchez, 35yrs, of #125 Signayork Belama Extension Belize City, (1) license 9mm pistol (S/NO. GGU859) was retrieved. Charges against Sanchez are pending.

ORANGE WALK MAN KILLED

On 26.6.08 at 10.20pm Police visited Cool Place restaurant and bar situated at the corner of San Antonio Road and Stains Alley OWK Town, where inside the establishment a male Hispanic decent person was seen lying on his back motionless, bleeding from the left side of his chest. The body was later identified as MICHEAL WILLS, 39yrs, a fireman of Guinea Grass Village Owk Dist. Initial investigation revealed that a dark complexion male person wearing a gray raincoat with a hood concealing his face entered the establishment armed with a 9mm pistol and shot WILLS -- then took $300.00 from the cash drawer and left on a bicycle. The scene was processed, the body transported to the Northern regional hospital morgue, where it was pronounced dead. Four persons are detained pending an investigation by Orange Walk Police.

COCAINE IN ORANGE WALK

On 26.6.08 at 8.00pm police conducted a search at Canada bar situated at Trial Farm Village Owk Dist. Four persons were present: three female and male who claim to be the person in charge. A search was conducted in a juke box that was inside the bar and as a result a black plastic bag was found under a compact disc which was opened in the presence of all four persons. The search revealed white powder suspected to be cocaine. All four were informed of the offence and escorted to the police station. The suspected drugs was weighed in the present of all four persons and amounted to 28.5 grams of suspected cocaine. Police have detained: (1) Emilson Vanegas, 23yrs, Honduran bartender of #53 Asuncion Street, Owk Town (2) Jenny Castellanos,29yrs, Guatemalan waitress of #53 Asuncion Street,OwkTown (3) Noemi Guerrero,31yrs, Honduran waitress of Trial Farm Village, (4) Raquel Guerrero,24yrs, Honduran of Trial Farm Village Owk Dist. The four were all charged with Drug Trafficking by OW police.

ONE YEAR OLD FOUND BURIED IN THE SWAMP

On Thursday 26/6/08 at 2:40pm police visited a yard situated on Riverside St., St. Martins, Belize City, where about fifty yards away – off the side of the street at the back of the yard – police found a white plastic bucket with human skeletal remains. The small body was wrapped in a multi- floral sheet found buried approximately 3 feet deep near a mangrove swamp. Present at the time was Pathologist Dr. Mario Estadabran who collected and packaged the remains. Also present was the mother from Mahogany St. Extn., who identified the human remains to be that of her son one year old Jermaine Tesecum. She further told police she witnessed the burial by her common-law-husband, Michael Tesecum, on August 17, 2004. The burial, she stated, took place some hours after the child was hit once on the head, by the father, who later discovered that the child may have died as a result of the hit. The remains were taken to the KHMH morgue where it awaits a Post Mortem. Police have detained Michael Tesecum and Therese pending charges.

CONSTABLE ACCUSED OF CARNAL KNOWLEDGE BY A MINOR

A 12 year old minor accompanied by her mother reported to police that on Wednesday, June 26, 2008, at about 2:30pm, she was at a residence on Seagull St., Belize City, with a brown complexion man, tall, slim built, with low hair cut: known to her as Devon (constable) who had sex with her. A medical examination was conducted and a doctor certified she was carnally known. Police investigation continues.
