UNTIMELY DEATH

On Sunday 29 June, 2008, about 10:20pm the West Composite Police/BDF patrol were patrolling the Western Highway on their way to San Ignacio and upon reaching at the intersection of the Highway and the last street in San Jose Succotz Village police spotted the body of a male Hispanic person. His body was on the right side of the road laying face down in a pool of blood, suffering from a large cut wounds to his forehead, under the chin, and on the right side of his neck. Police also observed small cut wounds under his lower lip and on the right forearm. The person also complained of severe back pain and police identified him by an I.D. card found in his pocket as Jerson Renan Paguada Hernandez, 25yrs Honduran of San Martin, Belmopan.  He was transported to the San Ignacio Town Hospital where he passed away at 11:59pm whilst undergoing medical treatment. On being interviewed by police at the hospital, Hernandez only said, “AN ACCIDENT, An ACCIDENT.” The public assistance is requested in an effort to locate his relatives as police continue their investigation.  

ROBBERY

MS. GENA WADE, 21yrs, reported that about 9:30pm on the 29/6/08, whilst walking on Central American Boulevard and upon reaching the intersection with Caesar Ridge Road, she saw four male persons riding on separate bicycles coming behind her. One of the male person of brown complexion, about 5feet, 7inches in height, slim  built, wearing a gray in color T-shirt, a black in color three-quarter pants and a black peak cap, rode upon to her, got off his bicycle and demanded that Wade hand over her chain. Fearing her life she handed over her medium link gold chain, with a gold “G” medal and (1) pink Motorola brand cellular phone. The male person then got back on his bicycle and rode away made good his escape. Police have detained Glenford Diego, 17yrs, of #96 Boots Crescent, pending charges.
 
ARREST: Reference report made on the 12/6/08, police formally arrested and charged STACKLE MANSANTO, 30yrs, of #10 Unity Street, Belize City for the crime of Theft and Assault of a Police Officer.
 
ARREST: Reference report made by Mr. Kenyon Flowers on the 29/6/08 police formally arrested and charged Ezort Stevens, 46yrs, Auto mechanic of Saint Paul’s Bank, Belize District and James Flowers, 56 yrs, mechanic of #32 Zericote Street, Belize City, jointly for the crime of theft.

PRISONERS ESCAPED

On Monday 30th June 2008 between the hours of 9:00am and 10:00am a Special Constable attached to the Corozal Police Formation was escorting prisoners Floyd Franklin, 19yrs, of Skelenton Town Corozal charged with Handling Stolen Goods and Francisco Vasquez, 17yrs, labourer of 12th October Street, Corozal Town,  charged with Aggravated Assault. The prisoners were being taken from the Police Station to the Magistrate’s court when both prisoners escaped. The Special Constable set chase behind them but to no avail and at the time, neither of the prisoners were handcuffed. Floyd Franklin was later captured and detained pending charges, but the search made for Francisco Vasquez was fruitless. The search by police continues.

SUSPECT WANTED  

Jose Escamilla, 30yrs, of Finca Solana Area Corozal Town reported that on 29/06/08 at about 11:45pm he parked his grey 1994 S-10 pick up in front of Wi Young restaurant on 7th avenue Corozal. At about 12:45am on 30/06/08 he came out of the restaurant and found a tall Hispanic male standing beside his vehicle. The individual then told him that he had washed his pickup but Escamilla had not asked for it to be washed. He got into the vehicle and whilst driving off he heard a bang at the driver’s side then another to the rear windshield which was shattered. Police are looking for a suspect in connection with this incident.

CARTER IN TROUBLE--AGAIN

A Domestic of Libertad Village, Corozal District reported that on Friday 27/06/08 at about 8:00pm when she arrived at her house she noticed that the front door and the back window had been damaged. She was later informed by her daughter 15yrs old that one Ever Ivan Carter and two others had gone to the house looking for her brother. Since there was no reply Carter took out a machete and began chopping the front door and back window causing damages. Police have formally arrested and charged Ever Ivan Carter, 25yrs, Boat Captain of Libertad Village, Corozal District for the crime of Damage to Property.

MISCONDUCT  

On 30.6.08 at 4:55 p.m. a Housewife of Douglas Village Orange Walk District reported that 28.6.08 at 2:00 p.m. whilst she was home alone her brother in law, Roman Mendez, arrived and choked her and uttered “ I Wa to Kill You”. He then touched her breast. 

On 30.6.08 at 5:30 p.m. Idelfonso Mendez, 34yrs, Labourer of Douglas Village Orange Walk District reported that on 28.6.08 at 10:00 p.m. his brother Roman Mendez who he had an argument with earlier in the day chopped up a 20 inches Television belonging to him. Roman Mendez, 39yrs, of Douglas Village Orange Walk District was detained pending charge of Damage to Property.

Arrest: - Ref the above reports made on 30.6.08 against Roman Mendez on 30.6.08 at 7:00 p.m. police formally arrested and charged Roman Mendez, 39yrs, for the crimes of Indecent Assault and Damage to Property respectively.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT

On 30.6.08 at 9:30 a.m. Romalda Ramos, 46yrs, of San Jose Village Orange Walk District reported that on 29.6.08 at 9:00 p.m. whilst home she had an argument with her husband Jose Ramos over an outside affair. He pulled out a machete from under his bed, pointed it at her and uttered “I will kill you.” Jose Ramos, 35yrs, Guatemalan, Labourer of San Jose Village Orange Walk District was detained pending charge of Aggravated Assault.
