About Us

The Orange Walk District Main Station is located on corner Hospital Crescent Street and Queen Victoria Avenue in Orange Walk Town. The strength at the station is 55, which include ten civilian personnel. The list below shows the breakdown:Orange Walk Police Station

At the Orange Walk Town Police Station there is a Criminal Investigation branch consisting of three personnel namely sergeant #288 Thomas Myers who is in charge and his assistant corporal #526 Jeffery Williams and corporal #99 Arlito Can. The traffic section consist of two personnel namely woman Police Constable #502 Leticia Lambey and Police Constable #400 Jose Blanco. There is also a prosecution branch which includes a civilian prosecutor namely Edwin Borallos, sergeant #141 Frederick Gordon in charge and constable #703 Calbert Myers who is the court orderly. Woman Police Constable #942 Melanie Anderson is in charge of the Domestic Violence Unit and corporal #166 Elroy Carcamo is the Zone Beat Liaison Officer.

Orange Walk Police Formation has several community-oriented groups, which assist the Police in various ways. They are listed below:

Citizens on Patrol (Cop’s):

Orange Walk COPSThe cops groups in Orange Walk District started in Orange Walk Town on the 15th November 2005 with eight members and strengthen over the past three years to a total of fifteen. The cops are the eyes and ears of the police and work on a voluntary basis with the Police in Orange Walk Town. The Members are Mr. Armando Valdez JP, Mrs. Sharon Reynolds JP, Mr. Jaime Pelayo, Mrs. Elizabeth Perez, Mrs. Antonette Young, Mrs. Bridgette Palacio, Mr. Alfredo Ortega, Mrs. Alberta Ortega, Mrs. Betsy Cawich, Mr. Paulino Carrillo, Mr. Moisés Cowo, Mr. Anthony Rhaburn, Mrs. Luciana Sierra, Mr. Mark Conorquie and Mr. Jose Viacillo.

In Orange Walk, there is also a special constable group. These are sworn persons that assist the police in some of there minor duties that police conduct. There are 43 members and some of them work in the different villages where police are posted.

Citizen Liaison Committee:

This committee was form in Orange Walk District in August 2005 and the role of this committee is to present recommendation to the Officer commanding for the smooth running of the formation. This committee consists of members from the community. In addition, they sit for meeting once a month.

Neighborhood Watch Group:


There are Four Neighborhood Watch groups in Orange Walk Town at present moment. We have Zone III group, which is in Pasadita area, Zone IV group, which is in San Jose Nuevo Palmar Village, Zone VI Black Waters Creek group, and San Lorenzo Housing Site group, which is in Zone VII. Meetings are conducted once a month or when necessary.

Police Youth Cadets Corp:

The strength of the Police Youth Cadet Corp in Orange Walk District is 178 the distribution is as follows:

 

(a) Orange Walk Town Zone I (35 cadets)
(b) Orange Walk Town Zone II (46 cadets)
(c) Orange Walk Town Zone III (30 cadets)
(d) San José/San Pablo Village (27 cadets)
(e) San Estevan Village (15 cadets)
(f) Nuevo San Juan Village (15 cadets)
(g) Douglas (10 cadets)

TOTAL (178 cadets)

 




 

 

Sub Station Information

There are six Sub- Station in the Orange Walk District; North of Orange Walk, we have Douglas Police Sub-Station, which is near the Rio Hondo River that borders Belize and Mexico. It is man by one police officer namely P.C #442 Reynold Cacho and his contact number is 309-5067. He resides at the Station and is in charge of three other villages besides Douglas that are in the area. The villages are Nuevo San Juan Village, San Pablo Village and San Jose Village.

The Next Sub- Station is East of Orange Walk in San Estevan Village. This Sub-Station is also man by one Police namely P.C #338 Valentin Uk his contact number is 303-4187. He is solely responsible for that village.

Guinea Grass Substation is located south Orange Walk and is man by Sergeant #247 Crispin Castillo, his contact number is 303-1173. It is one of the largest villages in Orange Walk District besides San Jose/San Pablo up north. There are three primary Schools in that location and the sergeant is responsible for Ship Yard Village and Fireburn Village, which is in the area.

August Pine Ridge Substation is located southwest of Orange Walk and is man by P.C #280 Reymundo Carrillo. He is responsible for Trinidad Village, San Lazaro Village and portion of Shipyard Village.

Blue Creek Substation is located west of Orange Walk at the Rio Hondo River, which border Belize and Mexico. It is man by one Police namely P.C #588 Herman Roberts, his contact number is 303-0347 and the station is located directly in front of the Custom office. Roberts is responsible for San Felipe Village, San Carlos Village, Indian Church Village and Gallon Jug Village.

San Roman Substation is North West of Orange Walk but at present moment, there are no police working at that location due to the dilapidated state of the building.
