STAFFING AND RANK ORDER

The department employs approximately 1,073 sworn law enforcement officers and 141 civilian employees (as of 31st March, 2008). Rank of our sworn officers are as follows, listed in descending order:

1. Commissioner of Police
2. Deputy Commissioner
3. Assistant Commissioners
4. Senior Superintendents
5. Superintendents
6. Assistant Superintendents
7. Inspectors
8. Sergeants
9. Corporals
10. Constables

Civilian employees handle a variety of important support services in areas as diverse as; 9-1-1 dispatching, forensics, records and evidence, latent prints, information technology, finance, personnel and other administrative duties.

DEPARTMENT UNITS/BRANCHES

The Department is divided into two branches, Operational and Administrative, headed by an Assistant Commissioner and the Deputy Commissioner, respectively.
