BELIZE DISTRICT

MURDER

On the 8th of November 2012, at 12:25pm, Belize City Police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where they saw the motionless body of Dennis WILLIAMS, 54 year old Belizean Laborer of Supal Street - Belize City, with three apparent gunshot wounds to the upper body. Initial investigations revealed that on the 8th of November 2012 at 12:02pm, WILLIAMS was at his work place "Three Star Quality Chicken" located at #46 Vernon Street, Belize City, when two male persons entered the business place. They approached WILLIAMS and fired two shots causing the above mentioned injuries. Quick Police response led to the detention of three 18 year old men of Belize City and the discovery of the suspected murder weapon, a black in color 9mm Taurus brand along with (5) 9mm PMC Lugar live rounds of ammunition. Police investigation continues.  

ROBBERY

On the 8th of November 2012, at 12:15pm, Lester Raul DIAZ, Guatemalan Deliveryman for Zeta Ice Factory and Resident of Belize City, reported that on the 8th of November 2012 at 11:30am he was making deliveries on Courtney Crescent. He was accompanied by his sideman at that time and upon slowing down to cross a speed bump, two dark complexion male persons who were on bicycles jumped into the moving truck. One of them pointed a firearm on DIAZ and demanded him to hand over the money. Fearing for his life, DIAZ handed over $70.00bcy in cash. The two culprits then got out of the truck and made good their escape. Police are investigating.

KEPT FIREARM AND AMMUNITION WITHOUT A GUN LICENSE

On the 8th of November 2012, at 5:00am, Belize City Police conducted a search at #3413 Central American Boulevard, Belize City. The search resulted in the discovery of a black in color 9mm pistol, with its magazine, containing (6) live 9mm rounds of ammunition. Kenroy GENTLE stated that the firearm was his; he was then escorted to the Police Station where he was arrested and charged for the offence of Kept Firearm and Ammunition Without a Gun License.

MISSING PERSON

Keisha COYE, 31 year old Belizean Customer Care Representative of Neal Pen Road, Belize City, reported that on the 6th of November 2012 at 7:00am she left home en route to her work place and upon arriving back home, at 5:15pm on the same date, she noticed that her son Steven MYERS, 12 year old Belizean Student, was missing from home. COYE further stated that her son Steven has the tendency to run away from home since he has done it 4 times before. Steven is of Brown complexion, slim built, has dark brown eyes, short dark brown hair, oval face, is 5 feet 2 inches in height and weighs about 110lbs. He was last seen wearing a yellow shirt along with a green ¾ pants and a pair of brown slippers. Police are investigating.

DANGRIGA TOWN

HOUSE FIRE

On the 8th of November 2012, at 6:10am, Dangriga police responded to a house fire at Havana Street, Dangriga. Upon arrival, they saw the western corner of a white upstairs cement house engulfed in flames. Erica MARTIN, 70 year old Retiree of Havana Street, reported that at 6:00am, on the 8th of November 2012, she was awaken by a popping sound from the hall area of the said house. Upon seeing the flames, she alerted her brother Bishop Osbourne P. MARTIN, 82 year old, who lives in the same house and two guests, retirees of Main Valley California. The fire department, along with civilians, extinguished the fire. Everyone escaped unhurt. The house received damage to the hall area where a sofa set, coffee table and lamp were destroyed. Police are investigating.  

THEFT

Eldon GARBUTT, Mechanic and Boat Captain of Dangriga Town, reported that between the hours of 1:30pm, on the the 7th of November 2012 and 8:00am, on the 8th of November 2012, someone stole  his white with burgundy striped - 26 feet fiberglass power boat ,pelican type, along with a 200 horsepower Yamaha outboard engine from the property of Eugene ZABANEH, situated on the Jetty Pier - Dangriga Town. The vessel is the property of Basilio ZABANEH.
