SHOOTING INCIDENTS

At 1:45pm on Thursday 28th January 2010, police visited the KHMH Trauma Room where one Lewis Kerr, 17 yrs, of Belize City was seen suffering from a single gunshot wound behind the right ear. Initial investigation revealed that the victim was in front of his house (along with other persons) when two male persons riding separate bicycles came from the direction of Gibnut Street – a gunshot was heard which caused the said injury. Police are looking for a suspect pending investigation.  

At 10:20pm on Thursday 28th January 2010, police visited the KHMH Trauma Room where one Mark Lopez, 44 yrs, of Belize City was seen suffering from a single gunshot wound to the left lower back. Initial investigation revealed that the victim was at a restaurant on Orange Street when several gunshots were heard. The victim is in a stable condition at the KHMH as police continue to investigate.

ARREST

Reference Murder Report of SALVADOR MARTINEZ (who stabbed at the MCC and subsequently died) dated 19/01/10, on 28/01/10 Police arrested and charged LEON GOMEZ, of Belize City for the crime of Murder. He was apprehended without incident.

MISSING PERSON

MARIA CRISTINA COWO, of the Corozal District reported that on 26/01/10 her daughter namely FLOR CIELO COWO, left home and have not yet returned.  FLOR is of Mestizo descent, about 5ft 3inches in height, brown complexion, medium built; weight 130lbs with straight black hair.  Police are investigating.
