SHOOTING

At 8:10am on Sunday 31st January 2010, police visited the K.H.M.H. Trauma Room where GAVIN ZUNIGA, 27, of Belize City, was seen suffering from a gun shot wound to the right upper back and BERNARD FELIX, 24, was seen suffering from gunshot wound to the right upper arm. Initial investigations revealed that at approximately 8:00am both male persons were at the Basketball court on Euphrates Avenue when a man stood on the street in front of Cairo Street and fired several shots towards the direction of the basketball court. Both victims are admitted to ward in a stable condition. As Police investigation continue as two male minors are detained by police pending investigation in regards to the shooting incident.

ARREST

Reference report made by MR. LEWIS KERR of a shooting incident, on Sunday police arrested and charged MARLON YSAGUIRRE, 22, of 77 Mayflower Street, Belize City for the crime of ATTEMPT MURDER, USE OF DEADLY MEANS OF HARM and DANGEROUS HARM.

MURDER


On 29/01/10 at 10:45pm, Police visited an area in Roaring Creek Village where the body of a dark complexion male person (wearing a blue ¾ jeans pants, a blue shirts and a black stocking on his head) was seen lying face down with a large cut wound from the right side of the cheek to the lower back of the neck.  The body was identified as one KEITH SAMBULA, 29, of Punta Gorda Town, Toledo District.  Investigation revealed that on said date between 9:30pm and 10:00pm the victim was socializing in the village with friends when he got into a misunderstanding with one of them. As a result he was fatally wounded and thrown on the river bank. Police have since detained four men (all of Roaring Creek Village) pending investigation for murder.

SHOOTING INCIDENT

MR. DANNY MASKALL, 25, of Belize City reported that at approximately 12:40am on Friday last he left a bar located at Corner Amara Avenue and King Street and was walking on King Street when he observed two persons, one was riding a bicycle and the other a female walking in the opposite direction towards him. The male person then threw his bicycle on the pavement, took out a hand gun and pointed it at complainant’s forehead and proceeded to rob him off his personal possessions. Fearing for his life he knocked the male person’s hand with the gun away from his face hit him and ran away. Thereafter the gunman fired shots at him, he escaped unhurt. As a result of police investigation police on 31/01/10 arrested and charged RONLEE PETILLO, 22, of #28 Dean Street, Belize City for the crime of ROBBERY.

On Monday police visited # 7B Glenn Street Belize City where they observed a minor, 14, suffering from gun shot wounds (left and right foot). Initial investigation revealed that the minor and two brothers were sleeping were at the upper flat of a two storey wooden house when they were awaken by the sound of the front door being stomped open. Thereafter, two dark-skinned male persons (one with dreadlocks) opened indiscriminate fire at them luckily only one person was received injuries. Police are conducting an intensive investigation into this brazen shooting.
